This rice and pasta “pilaf” is low in fat and flavored with ginger, which makes it a perfect entree or side dish to include in your GERD diet plan. For this recipe, we first sauté the vermicelli with the onions – and then we minimize the fat content by draining the mixture well. You can substitute chopped celery for the onions* if sautéed onions trigger your heartburn symptoms. Serve this interesting mixture of pasta, rice, and vegetables alone or as a side for your favorite meat, chicken, or fish recipe. It’s light, healthy, and delicious!
