This recipe uses a variety of ingredients, including pecans and water chestnuts, to make this a unique side dish for any meal. We skim the fat off the chicken stock, skip the salt, and use just a small amount of oil to keep the recipe GERD diet friendly and low in both sodium and fat. We also use a very small amount of fresh onion, but if cooked onion triggers your heartburn symptoms, substitute it with an equivalent amount of dried onion, or omit them from the recipe. Green pepper, celery and long grain rice, seasoned with sage and nutmeg complete the dish! Mmm Mmm, you will savor the exotic flavor!
